Four cabins are marked on a Bateman map of 1717 at Kilcalf East (NLIL ms. 6148, 18) close to the source of a N-S stream, and housing is marked in the same area on a Scalé map (NLI: ms. 7218, 6) of the area, dated 1774. They remain unlocated.
