The National Monuments Service's description

The ruin of a 'handsomely built house' is recorded in the Civil Survey (1654-6) at Ballynamuck, Ballymapp (Mapestown) or Shandon, the property of John Hore in 1641 (Simington 1942, 36). It remains unlocated.
