The National Monuments Service's description

Brash (1868-9, 438) described the church site at Kilgrovan as a 'cilleen', by which he may have meant a childrens' burial ground, but the presence of burials has never been confirmed in archaeological testing (Purcell 2006; Kiely 2010).
