The National Monuments Service's description
Situated in a farmyard at the W side of a N-S stream on a severe S-facing slope. It ws described by O'Donovan c. 1840 (O'Flanagan 1929, 70) as a 'dwelling house (int. dims. c. 12m N-S; c. 5.5m E-W) of two storeys'. There are no historical references to a castle here, but it may have been a 17th-century house. A Z-shaped wall consisting of two walls (ext. dims. 4.55m N-S; 4.14m E-W; max. H 4m) and a fragment of a third with no distinguishing features survives.
