The National Monuments Service's description
A stone house which was occupied by Susana Johnson, a widow, on land owned by the Earl of Cork in 1640 at Kilwinny and Carrigyrie is recorded in the Civil Survey (1654-6) (Simington 1942, 16). It may be the two storey house with an orchard marked on a Bateman map of 1717 (NLI: ms. 6148, 14) close to the SE corner of the townland. However, it remains unlocated.
