The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on the floor of the W-E Bride river valley, c. 1km S of the river. This may be the location of the church of Tulachratha, confirmed to the Bishop of Cork in 1199, but there are no other references until 1469 when the vicarage of Tollacrahy was united with the Augustinian abbey of Molana (WA037-011001-). Sir Richard Boyle, the first Earl of Cork, invested in the parish church in 1616, and according to a contemporary document he built a new church (Ryland 1824, 342). Power (1896b, 214) recorded traces of an earlier church (dims. c. 12m x c. 7m) within the graveyard (WA028-015007-) of the late 18th century Churh of Ireland church which is now abandoned, but the earlier remains can no longer be traced, and two 17th-century memorials (ibid. 215) are also missing.
