The National Monuments Service's description
During the 1980s a fragment of an ogham stone (WA025-065001-) was found at Knockmahon promontory fort (WA025-065----). In the 1990s a second, complete ogham stone was found in the fosse. Measuring 0.87m high x 0.59m x 0.25m it bears the following inscription: VEDILIMETO/ MAQI/ TOQITAQ. Both stones have been moved to the Geological Park at Bunmahon (see WA025-128002-) c. 600m to the NW.
This stone has been studied as part of the ‘Ogham in 3D’ project undertaken by the School of Celtic Studies, Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies. To access details go to the following website: http://ogham.celt.dias.ie/search.php?ciic=Knockmahon_II
