The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a N-facing slope of the SE-NW Luska spur extending down to the SE-NW Monavar stream. This is a field system consisting of four main walls of collapsed stone (Wth 1-2m) extending NE-SW vertically upslope. The outer boundaries are short (L 30-50m) while the two inner boundaries are longer (L c. 200m). The boundaries are 150m apart and only the area between the two inner boundaries has cross-walls dividing it into small irregular fields. Only one boundary extends onto the N side of the Monavar stream, and the area is also occupied by cairnfield (WA023-066051-). (Moore 1995, 194, 240-41, D)
This monument forms part of the national monument complex at Coumaraglinmountain (National Monuments (Preservation) Order No. 4 of 1996).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
