The National Monuments Service's description

Marked as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 40m) on the 1840 ed. of the OS 6-inch map and known locally as a 'lios'. It is located at the N edge of a plateau overlooking the ravine of the E-W Glendermot River with the stream c. 150m to the N. This is a subcircular area (dims. 31m E-W; 27m N-S) defined by a stone-faced earthen bank (Wth 2.5-3m; H 1m) NW-SE which is interrupted by gates at N and SE. Farm buildings and stone field walls are visible at S and W. Spoil, probably from the interior, has been pushed against the inner face of the bank, and it is utilised as a haggard.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
