The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a gentle SE-facing slope on the E foothills of the Monavullagh Mountains. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 35m N-S; 33m E-W) defined by an overgrown earth and stone bank (Wth 3.5-4.5m; int. H 0.4-1.4m; ext. H 1-1.4m) with external and internal stone-facing and an outer fosse (Wth of top 5-8m; ext. D 0.2m at S to 0.5-0.8m generally). There are entrances at W (Wth 3.8m) and SE (Wth 2m), but the latter is probably original.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
Date of upload/revision: 25th March, 2011.
Compiled by: Michael Moore.
