The National Monuments Service's description
Marked as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 80-90m) on the 1840 and 1927 eds. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on a broad plateau which slopes gently down to the E. This is a large, circular grass-covered area (dims. 70m NE-SW; 67m NW-SE) defined by a slight scarp (H 0.2-0.4m). There is no visible entrance, but there are slight traces of a fosse (Wth c. 2-3m) visible as a band of lush growth. The perimeter is overlain by a curving field wall N-E.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
Date of upload/revision: 30th July, 2010.
