The National Monuments Service's description
Located on a bluff overlooking a S-N valley just to its E. St Carthage's Well was associated with the church known as Relig Mhuire (WA021-019022-), which was somewhere to the N, but when the water was diverted c. 100 years ago veneration became attached to the well formerly known as the Forge Well (WA021-019007-), c. 100m to the E.
