Bridge

The National Monuments Service's description

Located at a bend of the W-E Blackwater River where it turns S at Cappoquin. A wooden bridge was built before 1643 by Sir Richard Boyle. It was rebuilt in 1666 (Redmond 1885-6a, 395-6) and is probably the bridge marked on the 1840 ed. of the OS 6-inch map which was removed in 1850. It is not visible at ground level.
