The National Monuments Service's description
Situated towards the top of a SE-facing slope. First identified in archaeological monitoring (03E1064) of the re-alignment of a gas-pipeline (Dempsey 2006) and later fully excavated (03E1325) as Adamstown 4 (Russell 2006j). A pit (dims. 1.5m x 1m; D 0.12) was lined with fire-redenned stones, from which a stone anvil or hammer-stone was recovered. A C14 date of cal. 1380-920 was obtained from this fill. A smaller pit (dims. 0.7m a 0.65m; D 0.5m) and a cluster of stakeholes is nearby. (Russell and Ginn 2009b, 8-9; 2011e)
