The National Monuments Service's description

Excavated (00E0192) as Area 10 of the N25 Kilmacthomas re-alignment. A mound of broken and burnt stones (dims. 14m N-S; 8m E-W) overlay an oval trough (dims. 2m x 1.1m; D 0.52m) cut into the subsoil. (Noonan 2002; Noonan and Richardson 2008)
