The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a steep S-facing slope on the N side of the NE-SW upper Araglin valley. Remnants of a grass-covered, stone-walled field system covering c. 8ha and comprising small fields (dims. c. 30m x 30m). The walls are composed of grass-covered stone spreads (Wth c. 3m) with some large boulders. It is associated with a deserted settlement (WA014-041001-) and probably post-medieval in date.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
