The National Monuments Service's description
Situated at the crest of a NE-facing slope overlooking the NW-SE River Tay, which is c. 80m to the E. A conglomerate stone with a rectangular cross-section (dims. 0.8m x 0.2-0.4m; H 1.6m) is oriented E-W and leaning to the N.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
