The National Monuments Service's description
There were traditions about an area known as 'Sean Dún', the old fort at Woodstown, which was demolished when the railway line was built and a large quantity of bones were discovered (Power, 1952, 367). This old fort could be a reference to the enclosure (WA009-006----) or the large enclosure with evidence of Viking and earlier occupation (WA009-019----).
