The National Monuments Service's description
According to the 1673 map published by Ryland (1824, 106ff) and the Phillips map (1685), the graveyard of the Cathedral (WA009-005020-) occupied the whole of Cathedral Square with an entrance on the N from Henrietta St. and another at the W from Lady Lane. The graveyard is not visible above ground, but some graveslabs (WA009-005109- to WA009-005112-) outside the SE angle of the Cathedral are from it. A burial (WA009-005132-) found at basement level in No. 6 Cathedral Square is likely to be associated with the medieval graveyard (pers. comm. Orla Scully).
