Philip Devenish. 1620. N. wall of the chancel of the Franciscan church (WA009-005032-).
Long narrow slab of fossiliferous limestone with chipped edges and worn surface, set against the N wall of the chancel. It is decorated with a debased fleur-de-lys cross on steps with skull and crossed bones below. The upper part of the cross and inscription are in false relief; the remainder is incised. There is a heart-shaped device above the cross. Marginal insriptionin Roman capitals:
HIC HJACET/ PHILLIPPIVS DEVENEIS QVI OBIIT 4 OCTOBERIS/ 1620/ ET ELLENA GOVF VXOR EIS
