The National Monuments Service's description

Archaeological excavation (99E0103) by Mary O'Donnell revealed two N-S fosses (WA009-005065-) cutting off the Dundory apex of the Viking town to the E. Just to the W of the W fosse was a mortared wall (Wth 0.95m; L 5.7m; H 0.2-0.65m) following its edge with a mortared floor inside it to the W. This is interpreted as the remains of a 13th century undercroft building (O'Donnell, 2000, 294-5, No. 851).
