The National Monuments Service's description
The parish church of St Michael's with references dating from 1449 when a cemetery (WA009-005075-) is also recorded (Bradley et al. 1989, vol. 2, 247). It was in ruins by 1615 (Anon. 1902, 114). A Phillips map (1685) and a map (1673) published in Ryland (1824, 106ff.) depict a small rectangular building. A fragment of the W gable with a single bellcote survives.
