The National Monuments Service's description
Originally located on the W side of the road at Dane's Cross-road (WA007-078----) (Power 1952, 403), it is known locally as 'The Hatter's pot'. The bullaun stone is traditionally thought to have been used by a blacksmith to cool horseshoes. It is a conglomerate stone (dims. 0.7-0.85m x 0.45-1m x 0.25-0.45m) with one basin (diam. 0.32m; D 0.18m). It was moved c. 150m N where it rested on the southern side of a field boundary. During landscaping associated with a newly built house S of this field boundary, the stone was moved to a planting border immediately inside and SW of the gate entrance. It rests in an upside down position at this location.
