The National Monuments Service's description

Marked as an incomplete enclosure only on the 1925 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Situated on a shelf of high ground at the NE-facing foothills of the Comeragh Mountains, with a W-E ravine immediately to the NW. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims. 35m E-W; 30m N-S) defined by a scarp (at E: Wth 4m; H 0.6m) NE-E-S, with the remains of a bank (Wth 3m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1.5m) and an outer fosse or gully S-W-NW. It is curtailed by the ravine at N and there is no visible entrance. The interior is bisected by a N-S field bank towards the W edge with grass to the E and scrub W of this feature.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
