Ardpaddin is described as one of the two noteable seats together with Kilmanahan (WA001-015----) in the barony of Glenairy, in a description of Co. Waterford prepared c. 1685-90 by Sir Richard Cox (1656-1733) for William Molyneux' projected Natural History of Ireland. It remains unlocated. (Walton 1987, 30)
