The National Monuments Service's description
Located in pasture on an E-facing slope. There is a local tradition of the existence of a church where Mass was celebrated prior to the erection of the RC church at Windgap. It was probably a penal church, but nothing is visible at ground level.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
