The National Monuments Service's description
According to the Civil Survey of 1654-6, a castle and bawn at Monadiha, by which is meant Rathgormuck, was owned by Nicholas Power of Rathgormuck in 1641 but leased to a William Power (Simington 1942, 112). There is no evidence of a bawn attached to the tower house (WA003-039001-), unless the structure (WA003-039002-) could have been a corner tower. (Decie 1981, 52-5)
Decies (1981) Notes on Rathgormack castle. Decies. No. 16, 52-9.
