The National Monuments Service's description

Situated at the E edge of a low plateau. Oval grass-covered area (dims. 30m E-W; 20m N-S) defined by a low, widely spread bank and located within a larger circular enclosure (diam. 50m). The outer enclosure is defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 5m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 1.6m) and external U-shaped fosse (Wth of top 5-7m; D 0.8m) ESE-WSW, and elsewhere it is defined by a slight scarp (H 0.3m). A slight dip in the outer scarp at NE may indicate an entrance (max. ext. dims. 63m N-S; 64.5m E-W).

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Date of upload/revision: 27th July, 2010.
