The National Monuments Service's description

According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) in 'Mullagh-Aby' the lands 'hath the accomodation of the River Shewer runinge by it wherein is a Weare belonginge to the sd lands' which in 1640 was under the proprietorship of 'James Prendergast of Tulloemealane Esqr Irish Papist' (Simington 1931, vol. 1, 328). This weir is unlocated within the townland of Moloughabbey.
