The National Monuments Service's description
On ground sloping to the N in a valley at the foot of the Knockmealdown mountains, in flat terrain. Earthworks consists of a curving bank at SE of complex, now forms a field boundary (Wth c. 2m; H 1.5m) surmounted by a post and wire fence. The E side of the field boundary is badly truncated. The field E of the field boundary has been reclaimed. W of the field boundary a pear-shaped enclosure is depicted on the 1st (1840) and 2nd (1907) ed. OS 6-inch map, this enclosure is heavily overgrown with gorse and ferns. On the 1907 ed. map two smaller enclosures are depicted S of the pear-shaped enclosure, these are also totally overgrown with gorse and ferns. The earthworks were visited in 1974 and described as 'an unusual complex of earthen banked enclosures on edge of bottom slope of 'ravine'. Most have a fosse outside embankment with traces of a bank. Large curving bank at E side, whose E side has been bulldozed away. In bracken field beside forest' (OPW Correspondence). The complex is visible on an aerial photograph (Air Corps V. 309/2237-8).
