The National Monuments Service's description
On ground sloping gently to S, in gently undulating terrain, under pasture. Structure partially excavated (Excavation number E00455) by Doody (2007, 32-35, Structure 9) which consists of a foundation trench (excavated L c. 6.2m) extending in an approximate NW-SE alignment which has been interpreted by the excavator as a palisade (ibid. 32). The trench contained c. 30 contiguous stake- and post-holes forming a single line of uprights in the base with some evidence of replacement posts (ibid. 35). The fill of the trench provided a radiocarbon date of 2730+/- 50 BP; 921-828 cal. BC which would place its construction in the Later Bronze Age (ibid. 32), post-dating the Bronze Age houses excavated in the vicinity including the closest (TS087-007005-) c. 2m to W and (TS087-007006-) c. 3m to N. The foundation trench cuts across the E wall of the Neolithic house (TS087-007007-) to the W (ibid. 32).
