On a NE-facing slope in undulating pastureland with woodland 'Flemingstown Wood' c. 300m to S and narrow bands of woodland 500-600m to N and W. Depicted as circular enclosure with trees in interior on 1st (1840) ed. OS 6-inch map and though hachured on 2nd (1907) ed. it is enclosed by a field bank with trees depicted in interior. Oval area (diam. 28m N-S; 25.6m E-W) enclosed by scarp (H 0.5m); wide, flat-bottomed fosse (Wth 2.1m; D 0.69m); outer earthen bank with some stones visible (Wth 1.5m crest, 3.9m base; ext. H 0.63m) and slight outer fosse (W 1.4m; D 0.28m). The bank in the S quadrant is quite straight. There is a gap in the W quadrant (Wth 2m). In the NW quadrant the bank is denuded by cattle. A field bank runs into the outer bank of the monument in the N and S quadrants. There are sycamore trees growing on the bank and ash in the centre. The monument may have been a tree-ring or a ringfort used as such.
