The National Monuments Service's description
Black marble fireplace (Wth 2.12m; H 1.83m), the opening (Wth 1.2m; H 0.93m) of which is now blocked. There is a white marble coat of arms of the Watson family in the centre with a chevron engrailed between 3 birds, two and one. Latin inscription MEA GLORIA FIDES. Craig and Garner (1975, 75) describe it as "a magnificant early-18th century chimney-piece of Kilkenny marble, with white marble rosettes and the Watson coat of arms in a white marble oval in the centre. It is unlikely that the chimney-piece was built for an earlier house on the same site, but more possibly for Clonbrogan q.v. which was built by the Watson family in the early 17th century".
