The National Monuments Service's description
According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) on the 'sd Gleabland beinge situated on the South and East of the Church of Tubrid...stands a stone house and a thatcht house with a chemny' and both 'thatcht houses with chemnyes and some cabbins' were owned by James Butler of Tubrid, Gent. and Irish Papist (Simington 1931, vol.1, 364, 368). One of these houses was tentatively located to Tubbrid Glebe House. However, on inspection it was found that the ruinous house and outbuildings are of 18th or early 19th-century date. The 17th-century houses remain unlocated within the townland.
