Above the doorway, in the W gable of a 17th-century chapel (TS081-054001-), which situated at E end of the graveyard (TS081-054001-), there is a rectangular memorial plaque (dims. 0.65m x 0.47m) set within a chamfered limestone surround. Above the inscription there are the initials IHS, a cross and a monagram for Ave Maria. There is a sketch of the plaque in the OS Letters (O'Flanagan 1930, vol.1, No. 42) and another by du Noyer (Cunningham 2000, 15). The inscription in contracted latin, in raised relief reads: ORAte Pro Aiabs P. Eugenu: Duhy Vic de Tybrud: et D: Doct Galf: Keating huis Sacelli Fundatoru: necno et pro oibs alusta sacerd. quam laicis quoru corpa in eod: jacet sa A Dom 1644. The expanded latin reads: Orate pro animabus Patris Eugenii Duhy vicarii de Tybrad et Domini Doctoris Galfridii Keating huius sacelli fundatorum necnon et pro omnibus aliis tam sacerdotibus quam laicis quorum corpora in eodem iacent Sacello, Anno Domini 1644 (Cunningham 2000, 14) which translates as Pray for the souls of Father Eoghan O'Duffy vicar of Tubbrid and Dr Geoffrey Keating the founders of this chapel, as likewise for all other, clergy as well as laity whose bodies rest in the same chapel, AD 1644 (ibid.).
