The National Monuments Service's description
In flat terrain and depicted as a T-plan house called 'Kilmore' on 1st (1840) ed. OS 6-inch map. House now demolished and there is a plywood manufacturing plant in the general area. The S boundary wall of the house complex now forms the rear wall of this plant, it has been heightened with concrete blocks. The curving wall W of the house also survives. The landowner thought that the original house stood in the farm complex to the W. The supposed house is largely demolished and is being re-incorporated into the present house which also incorporates the coach house which appears to be of 18th-century date. From the remains of this ruinous 'house' there is nothing to suggest it was a 17th-century house. The house may have been built for the daughter of Ellen Meagher and Robert Jolly upon her marriage to Counsellor Meagher of Kilmore in the mid-18th century (Mullally 1862-3, 248-9).
