The National Monuments Service's description
On flat ground in undulating terrain. Surrounded by pasture on E side and by tillage across the field bank immediately W of ringfort. Lisronagh tower house (TS077-010001-) and Donaghmore church (TS077-027001-) are visible to the SE and SW respectively. Circular area (diam. 35m N-S; 36.6m E-W) enclosed by a bank (Wth 2.5m crest, 4.3m base; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 2m) with a high stone content and wide outer fosse (Wth 3.2m; D 0.64m), waterlogged in the N sector. There is some scrub around the edges of the ringfort but the interior is relatively clear. However, it has been badly poached by cattle and there is evidence of a ring-feeder in the NE quad. Entrance in S quadrant (Wth 1.8m), no causeway over fosse, however this is the only candidate. It appears somewhat disturbed, perhaps widened. A field bank runs concentrically with the ringfort in the SW sector. Here there is no clear fosse but the ground is waterlogged at the external base of the bank. Formerly the field boundary also ran along the NW quadrant, only traces of this now survive. The bank is more pronounced in the interior from S-W-N, corresponding with sectors with an external field boundary.
