Built onto the internal E face of the W wall of the bawn (TS076-039002-) of Moorstown tower house (TS076-039001-) which lies immediately to the N. The W wall of the building re-uses the W wall of the bawn which is built on rock outcrop. A roofless building (ext. L 18.25m; int. Wth 6.03m; E wall T 0.59m) is of late 17th-century/18th-century date with later modifications. It is constructed of limestone rubble with roughly cut limestone quoins and a very course pebble dash render. The opes have brick surrounds, though a window at first-floor level at the N end has a N jamb of cut limestone with an internal chamfer and plain margins with punch dressing within. The house is divided into four rooms, with a broken out cross-wall further dividing the second most southerly room. Each room has an opening in the E wall into the interior of the bawn. The N room has chamfered limestone spud-stones for a double door. A partition wall between this room and the room to the S only rises to first-floor level. The E wall of the N room has evidence of at least three phases of construction. The N wall of this room projects internally from the bawn to support the external stair to the tower house entrance. The room to the S of this has a wide, large breach in the W wall at first-floor level. The S room has a large fireplace which projects internally from the S wall, with a well-preserved brick oven to the E. The oven has an opening to the fireplace and a separate opening to the room, the latter is blocked up. The building appears to be an outbuilding, possibly incorporating stables, but also incorporates a bakehouse and possibly accommodation.
