The National Monuments Service's description
On broad, flat crest of hill. Civil Survey (1654-6) refers to 'an old Thatcht house with a ruined Wind Mill' on the land of 'Edmond Mocler of Maganstowne Irish Papist' (Simington 1931, vol.1, 213). This windmill stands two storeys high at the E end of a single storey house which appears to be the 'Thatcht house' (TS076-012----) mentioned above. The windmill (int. ground floor dims. 1.41m N-S; 1.24m E-W; N wall T 0.86m; S wall T 1.3m) is access in N from within the hall of a new, early-mid 20th century, extension, at right angles to the old house, it is presently a store room. There is a window in the S wall at ground-floor level. The first floor is accessed from the stairs in the new extension. It is presently used as bedroom with a window on the S and E sides. The windmill is presently roofed by a continuous roof from the 20th century extension. Sides are slightly battered. Interrupted eaves course at angles of roof. Windmill would originally have been three or four storeys high.
