On generally flat summit of hill in undulating terrain, under fairly lush pasture. Land rises very gradually to S and W. A smaller enclosure (TS076-001001-) is located along the W edge of this monument and field banks (TS076-001002-) are associated with it. Bivallate ringfort (TS076-003----) located c. 150m to NE. A large, roughly D-shaped enclosure (diam. c. 100m) with the N side being particular straight. According to landowner it was levelled c. 20 years ago. The fosse is visible as a cropmark to E and S, however, there is no visible trace above ground of N side. The S and E quadrants enclose the base of the hill. The S side kinks out slightly where a field boundary, running N-S, meets the monument. When Cahill (1982) visited the monument it was defined by a bank with portion of the fosse in evidence on S and E side and internal divisions were also visible. The enclosure is upstanding in an aerial photograph (CUCAP 13 July 1966 AOZ 96) when it was grass covered and appears to be defined by scarp. There may have been an outer enclosing element. This is evidenced on the 2nd (1901-05) ed. OS 6-inch map by a scarp running concurrently with the SE quadrant of the inner enclosure at a distance of c. 20m. This shows up on the aerial photograph as a bank, partially covered hidden by trees. It also appears to have been transected N-S by a bank or ditch, traces of which are apparent on the aerial photograph. This may or may not be contemporary with the enclosure. More recent aerial photographs (ASIAP (31) 9-10 (1996); GB89.AA.28 16 July 1989) show the outline of the monument as a cropmark.
