The National Monuments Service's description

According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) there was 'a mill adioyneing to the River of Swyer' in 'Belladrohid' which in 1640 was owned by 'The Lord Archbishopp of Cashell' and leased by 'Edmond Butler of Belladrohid Gent.' (Simington 1934, vol. 2, 365). This water mill remains unlocated within this townland.
