The National Monuments Service's description

On the summit of the easternmost peak in the Galty mountain range, known locally as 'Bain'. Steep fall to SE while ground rises gently to W. Cairn is visible on aerial photograph (Air Corps V.311/2977/8). Circular cairn (basal dims. 17.9m N-S; 17m E-W; H 0.23-1.54m), heather covered, with sunken interior (D 0.5m), recently in-filled by hill-walkers with large stones. Cairn stones are red sandstone with quartz inclusions. A recently constructed cairn and rough circular rubble stone shelter are located to NE. Lot of outcrop in the immediate vicinity. There is a trigonometrical station in SW quadrant of cairn.
