The National Monuments Service's description
Formerly classified as 'Enclosure' in SMR (1992) and RMP (1997). Identified as 'A definite man-made enclosure, silted up, has capstone and side walls. Opening face S/E' (Tipperary SR County Museum Files). This is a small quarry with a limekiln built into the quarry face. The mouth of the limekiln (dims. Wth 0.6m at top, 0.9m at base; H 1.7m) is composed of sandstone drystone walling which splays out towards the base and is surmounted by a stone lintel (L 0.8m; T 0.21m).
