The National Monuments Service's description
Incorporated in the internal face of the town wall which also forms the S boundary of the graveyard (TS070-040031-) of the medieval parish church of St John the Baptist (TS070-040001-), currently Holy Trinity C of I church. It is 1.27m above present ground level and 7.5m W of Edmond's Castle (TS070-040002-). This limestone fragment (dims. 0.48m x 0.22m) is chipped around all sides and the surface is somewhat spawled. There is a raised border along one edge with an illegible inscription in Black Letter script.
