The National Monuments Service's description
According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) in 'Mastertowne' which in 1640 was under the proprietorship of 'James Earle of Ormond', 'There is on these lands a good Thatcht house' (Simington 1934, vol. 2, 10). This house is also depicted on the Down Survey (1655-6) map. This house is unlocated within the townland.
