In level area of improved pasture. Boggy land to S. Drainage works in 1993 levelled out small, circular mound (diam. c. 3.5-4m) of black soil and heat-shattered stone. Drain cut through area of field at location of former field boundary. Burnt material evident in section of drain. Burnt material still evident under sod at both sides of drain, demarcated by differential growth in grass. Drain flows directly into a small stream to SE.
