The National Monuments Service's description
In improved pasture, on a gentle S-facing slope. An oval area (dims. 32m E-W; 28m N-S) defined by bank (Wth at top 2.5m; overall Wth 11.75m; int. H c. 0.35m; ext. H 2.1m) in the NE quadrant, reduced to scarp (Wth 5m; H c. 1m) ENE-E-S and a wide well-formed fosse (basal Wth 2.6m; overall Wth 9.35m; D 0.8m) from N-E-SE and SSW-W-WNW. A lime kiln is indicated on the inner face of the bank in the NW quadrant on the 1st (1840-41) ed. OS 6-inch map. As a result of activities associated with the limekiln, the bank appears to have been augmented from S-W-WNW and reduced to an uneven scarp in the NW sector and the fosse opens out to a very wide area at NW-N. There is a wide causewayed entrance (Wth 8m) at S. The interior slopes relatively steeply down to S and has a large depression in NW corner where the limekiln was removed.
