The National Monuments Service's description
According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) in 'Coolieagh', which was under the proprietorship of ‘Robert St John of St. Johnstowne Irish Papist’ in 1640, there was ‘a thatcht house’ (Simington 1931, vol. 1, 175). This house is unlocated within the townlands of Cooleagh and Coolbaun.
