The National Monuments Service's description
On a SW-facing slope, just below top of ridge, in undulating terrain in rough pasture. On the 1st (1840) ed. OS 6-inch map a graveyard is indicated N of the church (TS062-041----), defined by a curving line in the NW-N-NE quadrant and by a field boundary running NE-SW in SE quadrant. The graveyard is not indicated on the 1903-04 ed. map and there are no headstones or other grave markers to indicate the presence of former graves. However, there are earthworks to W-NW-W of the church, including the remains of a curving graveyard boundary (diam. 46.5m NW-SE), consisting of bank (Wth 2m; int. H 0.42m; ext. H 0.44m) and scarp (H 0.6m). On aerial photographs (ASIAP (364) 0-1, 7-8, 10 May 2003) the northern half of a large enclosure (dims. 146m NE-SW) is clearly visible. It is likely that the surviving curving enclosure is the N portion of what was originally a complete, roughly circular or oval enclosure. The presence of this curving enclosure and the 'Temple' element in the name of the church itself suggests that this is an early medieval foundation.
