The National Monuments Service's description
In improved pasture, on a gentle ENE-facing slope. Remains rectangular area (dims. 56m NNW-SSE; 46m ENE-WSW) defined by levelled bank (overall Wth 15.2m; Wth at top 4m; int. H 0.05m; ext. H 0.85m) to ENE and remains of levelled bank (overall Wth 20.75m; Wth at top 13m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.25m) to SSE. Faint trace of a shallow, linear depression defines WSW-side. Intermittent hedgerow field boundary defines NNW-side with land drain on exterior, which may represent a re-cut fosse. Interior has an ENE-facing slope. Linear earthwork (long axis ENE-WSW) depicted on latest edition OS 6-inch map, extending from SW-corner, is not readily traceable, but may have formed the south side of an adjoining moated site. Current edition Os map depicts a field boundary which may have respected WSW-side of same.
